I'm experiencing a technical difficulty, so I thought I'd start a thread to report bugs with the forum.
Sometimes, when people quote another post or when people go back and edit/delete a post, I can't see anything below the quote/line that says the post has been edited. I can't see the rest of that post, any other new posts, or even the bottom of page (Forum RSS, Search, About the Gori Girl forum, etc.). The specific threads on which I've noticed this problem are Superstitions, Age Differences, and the Welcome thread. Anyone else notice this or is it just me?

Yes, I just noticed the same thing. I also noticed the same issues with the threads you mentioned. I also noticed the other day that I don't see the most recent posts in the Welcome thread. Anybody notice this?

Thanks for letting me know! I haven't had this occur to me yet, but I'll see what I can do. It could be the forum software, or it could be caused by some other things I use to keep the blog load times down. I'll look into to it as soon as possible.

FYI – I think the issue may be between the software and Internet Explorer. I was having this issue with IE but tried reading the Superstition post on Safari and had no issues.

I can't read any posts after one has been edited. This includes my personal story which I posted and it shows I posted but I can't see it. There are several other threads too…..any posts before the edit are okay, but none after. Example ISKON thread…I can't see any of it.

Misu, the problem is caused by something in the way Internet Explorer is reading the page. If you use Mozilla Firefox browser (which is a better & safer browser, anyways), or another browser, then the problem doesn't occur.
Aditya will be looking into the coding of the forum software today/tonight to fix the problem.

I am an Internet Explorer user and won't be changing. The problem isn't fixed; still can't read the pages after a post with an edit.
Thanks for trying–might just be my problem.

Is there any way to delete a post? It has been a few times that I post something (only click once!) and the post adds twice!! I don't know how to delete them.

Only moderators can delete posts, since otherwise it could be very confusing/misleading if you deleted a post that others have already responded to. If you accidentally post something several times, feel free to send me a PM (private message) or an email and I'll delete it.
Update on the bug: it's an error embedded deep in the code of the forum software that appears to affect IE v 7 and below. We'll be updating to the newest version of the forum software at some point this week; if that doesn't fix it we'll either disable edits (which would keep the error from occurring) or talk with the forum software developer to see if there's another workaround. Sorry for the trouble, everyone!

Thanks, GG! I didn't want to have to switch from Internet Explorer, either — I'm too lazy.

Hi. I newly joined as a member and when I posted my introduction, I dont' see it posted, but it says I posted last. Can anyone else see it? It might be the issue with the editing of posts because the post right before where mine should be was edited and there is no content. Should we start a new intro forum or what can we do?

Yours is certainly there, loveforlife – it's still the IE problem, despite an upgrade of the forum software. Don't start a new thread just yet; I'll check out a few things, and bug the developer of the forum software to see if I can come up with a solution.

Hi! Since the forums went back up, I haven't been able to see pictures – no avatars (mine or otherwise) or graphic smileys. I'm a Mac user. In Safari, it's all little question mark boxes. In Firefox, the avatars are just nonexistent (wouldn't know they were there) and the smileys are descriptive text (confused cool cry, etc.), and neither are clickable. Anyone else having similar issues?

Yes, there's a problem in the way we reinstalled the forum software – it's buggy from the administration side as well. I'll try to find some time to look at it in detail this weekend. Aditya's been traveling for work and I just started a really intense fitness program, so things have been kinda hectic at home – not much time for admin work or post writing, unfortunately.

Certainly not an urgent issue…although interestingly, your picture shows up!
I appreciate all your admin work, as everything past MS Office and SPSS is *magic* to me (luckily, I now have my own private Indian tech support for all other issues — which is why he switched me over to a Mac).

Some topics don't open at all, doesn't matter if I use Firefox, Chrome or IE.
This is what happens:
I click on the topic, it loads ages and ends up with an almost blank page (only with Gori Girl Forums heading).
When I refresh, or try to log out/log in once more, nothing changes.
The topic records a visit (the number of page openings rises) but in fact, I haven't been able to read anything.
Sometimes, the browser reports errors when loading the page, but even without it, some topics never work.
