Hello! I've talked to a few people in the area! We hope to plan a meetup this summer!
Who's interested? Ideas? I am thinking lunch/dinner with something outdoorsy activity. Maybe BBQ at a park in NJ? Or something in central park?
Anyone in? Already mentioned this to Heather and Jenn….

We'll be in NJ around 6/28 – 7/11, but we're having our Big Fat Indian Wedding in there somewhere… We could likely come around 7/6-7/11, but it certainly doesn't need to revolve around us.

Hello!
Sorry I have been slacking on setting this up! Now I am deciding between June 26th and July 10th.
Also is everyone ok with meeting for coffee then going to dinner in NYC? I am thinking meeting for coffee 4 or 5 then having early dinner around 6. That way it allows for travel time back as most people are coming from outside NYC.

We're free either day, but actually July 10th would be better for us since June is a crazy month. We've got so much going on the next two weekends. But we can do either! Coffee and dinner sounds great!

We're not 100% on being able to go July 10th, so June 26th might be a better bet to include as many people as possible! I'll stay in the loop and try to make it if the 10th works out, though.

NYC Gori Girl Meet-up
Coffee and Yummy Indian Chinese food! I tried to make it an earlier dinner because it seems like most people will be coming from outside of NYC. We'll make reservations from Starbucks depending on how many people show up! :)

We'll have to see if maybe we can do a meet up in central Jersey somewhere next time. That way it will be easy for PA and NJ/NY people. Maybe in August after this inital meetup?

its actually not getting to NYC that is the problem, I take the train from Trenton which is about a 10 minute drive, the problem is A's parents for 3 months this summer means he can't really leave them for an extended period time which I find crazy, but it's what he has to do, I could go just without him

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. This will be fun! I just told my hubby about the restaurant in NYC "Chinese Mirch" and he said it's fantastic. He ate there a few years ago with friends when they visited NYC. Can't wait!
Oak Tree Road in Edison, NJ sounds great too! There is also a great restaurant called Jewel of India in Princeton, NJ that we love too.

I'll have to RSVP later, based on how things go — but there's a chance we'll be back in August to visit A's parents once everything has calmed down. Edison and Princeton are both very doable for us – it would be fun to see other White people in the Oak Tree Road shops!

We'd love to come join you all in NYC. Sounds great. We're new to the area and would love to meet some new people. I've also heard great things about Oak Tree Road in Edison. It's not too far out of the way for us either. We're currently in CT, but close to NYC by train. Looking forward to it.

Sure we plan to come to a fun event in NYC and this happens http://www.wtnh.com/dpp/news/fairfield_cty/new-haven-line-train-service-suspended So sorry we couldn't make it. Diesel trains weren't running when we were waiting. Tons of people were standing and waiting (not very happily) on the platform. Hubby can't take the heat for too long either so I guess we'll have to wait until next time. Hope you all had fun. If it's any consolation we did eat at Chinese Mirch (in CT) lol.
