So, I've realized that there's a decent handful of readers here who live in the DC region, and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in meeting up to chat, eat some delicious Indian food, or what have you. I've already had the pleasure of hanging out with DJain and her husband earlier this year, and that was a LOT of fun!
Anyone else interested? It'd be best for Aditya & me to hang out on a weekend rather than a weekday, just 'cause we tend to work long & unexpected hours during the work week. Perhaps the first weekend in June?

Oh darn, we're going to be on the West Coast that week! But I would love a meetup some other time. It's looking pretty positive that we might be moving up there in late summer, so even if we can't make it that week, we would love to do at some point soon…
That was really fun meeting you and Aditya, Gori!

Well, we could meet some other weekend, if it means that you could make the drive to the DC region… I was just throwing out the first weekend that worked for us.
Let me know if you want any "where to settle" advice, altho, really, you want to be as close as work as possible in this area, given the commute.

I'd recommend doing a quarterly meetup… that way you don't have to worry about moving targets in terms of dates… Maybe something like second weekend of every quarter?
We can fire up a good 'ol barbeque for june…

Heh, yeah, sounds very financial! A barbeque would be great too–we make really good dahi vade, and (yes, we're bad Jains) awesome seekh and sheesh kebabs…
We'll probably go up there at some point during the summer to look at real estate. We're trying to find something to buy in Alexandria, Arlington, or Falls Church–but hopefully Alexandria, because that's the closest to V's work. I'll keep you posted.

We'd love to meet up sometime! We've seriously never met people in a desi-American intercultural marriage before in real life (I don't think, at least.) Except that we'll be attending such a wedding on the weekend you mentioned, so we would not be available then…)

Alright, how does everyone look for the second weekend in June – i.e. the 13th or the 14th? And if that doesn't work, how are schedules for the third weekend in June – i.e. the 20th or the 21st?

I know this is an old thread, but I am new to the forum and would be interested in any future NoVa meetups – did this ever happen?
