Hi everyone,

Just wondering if any of you have tried to learn Bengali?

I took a few informal lessons from a lecturer who used to teach at the college where I work but we've lost touch now that she quit. I'm having trouble following the books/CDs I found. It's not essential that I learn because my bf speaks English as a first language, but his family speaks Bengali. I would love to learn in order to gain a bit of insight and be able to communicate better with them if it comes to that. Also, just out of personal interest.

Would like to hear your experiences if you've picked up Bengali as a native English speaker!
